Meet Favour

First-generation American artist who grew up navigating life between Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and the United States. Now living in Vermont, and moved here from the bible belt of Kentucky, of all places. Usually, I'd say something like "I'm working with themes of memory, sexuality, and coming to grips with my religious background," but really, I'm just a kid trying to figure out this world day by day, and making art based on my lived experience. I used to think that the value of my life was intrinsically linked to how well I was doing in my art practice; now it's maybe the opposite. I'm learning and growing, and still looking for the whimsy and wonder in everything I see and touch.

Education & Exhibitions

They hold a degree from the University of Indiana, where their pieces were featured in student exhibitions. During college, Favour also collaborated on fashion and installation projects, including:

• Afloramos: An Exhibit of Latinx Artists - a collaborative showcase featuring dresses they designed.
• Floor Installation "Home Sweet Home" - a site-specific piece with a live model and sculptural elements.
• Cielito Lindo: A Fashion Collective - a fashion show hosted by Frankfort's Logan Street marketplace, showcasing their work.

In 2023, they presented couture pieces at KMAC Couture in Frankfort, KY.
